Hope that you are having a wonderful vacation. We read 3 different handouts today in class. Will try to scan them tonight and put the links on here.
Also, google "Convoys during WW2" or something similar to that and read about what the purpose of them was. Also do some reading on "German U-boats" during WW2. On the wikispace, click on the US navy propaganda poster taking you to the Homefront section. Watch the video on the sunken U-boat that I added there.
Lastly, look up the Native American Code Talkers during WW2. Go back to the wiki/homefront/ and find Code talkers dictionary link. Go to the link and make up 5 sentences using the Navajo language as well as the English translations. They can be funny or serious, your choice.

Tues: Go back to the main WW2 wiki page and print off the notes for the Bataan Death March and Coral Sea and Midway. We will be studying those today and tomorrow.
Wed/Thurs- We continued taking notes in class. I can give them to you when you get back. Today we focused on the invasion of Sicily and Italy. When you can, google the Allied invasion of Italy and read about it to get yourself caught up.
Homework: A map activity
Friday- We discussed the "White Rose" which was a student anti-Nazi movement in Germany. The students were arrested and executed simply for printing anti-Nazi pamphlets and distributing them around the University of Munich.
Please google the "White Rose" and read up on them.
